Our Editorial Policy
Health is Heaven publishes practical health information and free calculators for a general audience. Because we cover health topics, we hold ourselves to a higher standard than a typical lifestyle blog. This page explains how we research, write, review, and update our content, and where to contact us if you spot an error.
Who Writes Our Content
All content on Health is Heaven is written and edited by Ganesh Kamble, the founder. Ganesh is not a licensed medical professional. He is an IT systems engineer with 14 years of experience and a personal interest in health and longevity. He runs the site as an independent publisher.
This is stated openly because it matters. Health is Heaven is an information publication, not a clinical service. Our articles and tools are designed to help readers understand commonly asked health questions and to point them toward authoritative sources. They are not a substitute for personalized medical advice.
Our Sources
For every health topic we cover, we rely primarily on published guidance from organizations whose work is widely accepted by the medical community. In order of how often they are cited on this site:
- World Health Organization (WHO)
- US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and PubMed
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic patient information
- Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
- Peer-reviewed studies indexed in PubMed
- National disease-specific organizations (American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, etc.)
We do not cite other health blogs as sources. Where we link to commercial sites (for example, a product we recommend), we say so clearly.
How We Use AI
We use AI tools (including Claude and ChatGPT) to assist with research, drafting, and editing. We disclose this openly because we think readers deserve to know. However, every article published on Health is Heaven is reviewed and edited by Ganesh before publication, and any factual claim is checked against the sources listed above. AI-generated content is never published unedited.
We do not generate AI images for our articles unless explicitly noted. Most images are sourced from Pexels and other royalty-free photo libraries, or are original screenshots and diagrams.
How We Build Our Calculators
Our health calculators use established, published formulas. For example:
- The BMI Calculator uses the World Health Organization's standard categories.
- The TDEE Calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, currently the most accurate validated formula for resting metabolic rate.
- The Blood Pressure Checker uses the American Heart Association's 2017 categorization guidelines.
- The Pregnancy Due Date Calculator uses Naegele's rule, the standard obstetric calculation method.
Calculator inputs are processed in your browser. We do not store the values you enter unless you save them to a logged-in account.
How We Review Articles
Each article goes through three steps before publication:
- Drafting with reference to the sources listed above.
- Fact-checking of any specific numerical claims, study citations, or clinical thresholds.
- Editing for clarity and to ensure the article does not overstate what the science shows.
Articles include citations and links to original sources so readers can verify claims independently.
How We Update Articles
Health science evolves. We aim to revisit older articles at least once a year to check whether guidelines have changed, and we update sooner when major guidance is revised (for example, when the AHA changed its hypertension thresholds in 2017). Every article displays a "Last Updated" date.
If we make a substantive correction, we add a brief note explaining what was changed and why.
Corrections Policy
If you spot an error in any of our articles or calculators, please tell us. We take corrections seriously. Email contact@healthisheaven.com with the URL and a brief description of what is wrong, and we will respond within a few business days.
For factual errors, we will correct the article and add a correction note. For matters of interpretation or emphasis, we will consider your feedback and respond.
Editorial Independence and How We Make Money
Health is Heaven is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and a limited number of affiliate links to products we believe are useful. We disclose affiliate relationships clearly in our Medical Disclaimer. Affiliate or advertising relationships do not influence our editorial content, and we do not accept paid placements within articles.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not provide personal medical advice via email or contact form.
- We do not diagnose conditions or recommend treatments for individual readers.
- We do not publish content based purely on commercial considerations or affiliate revenue.
- We do not republish or paraphrase other publishers' work without proper attribution.
